Dr Williams received his Physician Assistant degree in the late eighties in New York City at Touro University. After doing an Emergency Medicine rotation in the Bronx, his interest in Psychiatry became apparent. He received his Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 1986 and specialized in assessing and treating victims of abuse and assessing perpetrators. He has presented to numerous conferences in assessing the forensic patient as well as those suffering from PTSD. He was mentored by Dr. Carl Hammerschlag, a Yale trained psychiatrist and established author. He weaved his training with his experience working on Native American Reservations.
Dr Williams has authored an autobiography, "Above His Shoulders" which targets his own personal experience with abuse, and the soon to be released book, " Detecting Deception."
Therapeutic Approach
Dr Williams uses an approach of analytical and existentialism to assist in guiding individuals through anxiety, stress and life's challenges while empowering choice and reframing individual freedom. Targeting philosophical approaches to questions of what is our purpose while we walk this path.
